This is my 3rd Stormy Kromer cap purchase, and I own two pair of Stormy Kromer mittens. I have visited the Ironwood MI headquarters. Obviously I am a huge Stormy Kromer fan. This cap is special because of the ear flaps that can be untied to keep my ears warm during a long day of snowshoeing in the woods. My husband and sister also own red Stormy Kromers. These are the best hats ever. Mittens too - the best!
As expected, absolutely first quality well made cap just like my Original is. True to size and really keeps head and ears warm
I bought this hat a couple of months ago and I’ve been wearing it pretty much everyday since. It’s wintertime and it really keeps my head warm. I’ve worn it in the rain and my head stayed dry too and I like that it has a brim on it. I am very sensitive to light so I’ve always got to wear hats with brims on them to help shield my face from overhead light. I really like the color I got, the aurora plaid, it’s a lime green with purple and pink plaid and the size xl fit my huge head. I like the hat so much, I’m thinking about buying another color too.
Disappointed. Inside lining sewed in crooked, hung out below hat on one side and all bunched up inside. that may be why it was in the outlet or it slipped pass someone. ~ Sorry your cap has sewing issues. Thank you for making a high quality hat for an adult with a small head! I did follow the advice of other respondents and 'sized up'; from the sizing chart I would have chosen XS (my head measurement is 20 3/4" or 53 cm) but I ordered a Small and it fits snugly. This is a meticulously constructed hat using excellent materials. I am delighted with my purchase. I grew up in the area where these items are manufactured, and the company is well known for superior standards, unique products, and reliable customer service.
Better yet, buy all their hats. SK hats are by far the warmest I've ever worn. I am slowly starting a collection of SK hats. I truly believe there is no reason to own any other brand. The snowdrift cap seems like it has more insulation which came in handy when I had to snowblow the driveway in -3° weather. Love this hat, love all my Stormy Kromer hats! Thanks for being Michigan made and thanks for the always high quality caps. You have a customer for life.
The xl cap was tight. The ear flaps did not lay flat against my head resulting in cold air leaking, not allowing my ears to stay warm.
As per other reviews, size up a bit. I am a little doubtful that this will actually keep the wind from my ears (I have rather large ones) as the ear flaps don't hug my face, even when tied under my chin, but the hat is thickly lined and nicely made.
