I am a retired Railroad engineer. I wore many Kromers during my career. They never failed to keep me warm. Even when it was 40 below on my Wyoming run. I still wear a Kromer today. Leather bill is a great upgrade.
I recently bought the Evergreen color at Getz's in Marquette, which brings my collection to six Kromers. I really like the double top stitch which really brings a clean sharp look to the crown. The waxed cotton on the ear flaps gives a good impression of leather. I told my wife that this is my "dressed up" Kromer...

First of all, I ordered this hat with the mindset of supporting small businesses within the United States. That is why is cut Amazon out and went straight through the website. Unfortunately, after speaking to customer service about shipping issues I was given the strong impression this was of no concern whatsoever. First, let me say I love the look and materials of this hat. With that being said, when I spend $60 on a hat made in the USA I expect quality in every aspect. That unfortunately is simply not the case. The flap, that ties in the middle, is visibly sown on off center. Secondly, I was extremely disappointed to see the leather was only on the top of the hat bill. When it said and showed leather I just assumed it all leather. Well, that was not the case whatsoever. The bottom of the bill is fabric. Would I purchase anything else, absolutely not. If these small details aren’t a concern for you then, you won’t have any issues with spending $60 on a hat like this. ~~ Sorry to hear the earband was sewn on off-center. That should not have gotten through inspection and it will be addressed. There are several photos of the cap online and one does show that the leather isn't on the underside of the brim.
