My expectations were absolutely exceeded; the fit is perfect, the inside hatband is very soft and comfy, the earflaps when down cover all but the very bottom of my earlobes, and the hair hole makes it even better than my Petal Pusher. My hair is a medium fine consitancy with a slightly above average density, and is very long (tailbone length). Therefore I was a little concerned about a previous review that mentioned not being able to fit their hair through the hole, thankfully my hair isn't as thick as hers. The relatively small hole allows my ponytail to go all the way through while being small enough to not allow a cold draft at the back of my head. Also the hole is wide enough that I am able to put my hair in a twisted bun with a hairstick through it to keep it up out of the way. The Thimbleberry plaid is lovely and feminine without being overly fancy. This one keeps my head just as warm as the Petal Pusher and both out perform any knit hat I have ever had.
